This 3-way diverter with a flap mechanism and pneumatic actuation is used where good parts need to be separated from start-up/reject parts and quality control parts. It can also be used as a distribution diverter at the outlet of a conveyor line to fill three containers consecutively.
This diverter type consists of a rectangular housing with a switch flap attached to each outer edge. This switch flap can be pivoted into two positions, thus directing the conveyed flow in different directions. The three outlets are controlled depending on the combination of flap positions.
The switch flaps are made of stainless steel as standard, but can also be made of plastic (POM) if required. This is particularly important for smaller parts to keep any resulting gaps as small as possible.
The switching speed between the end positions with this drive type is between 1.0 and 1.5 seconds. This makes the switch particularly suitable for the targeted distribution of part flows or as a quality switch.
Like all MTF Technik switch valves, this type is designed and constructed entirely according to customer specifications. This switch valve can be integrated into all common injection molding machines or die casting machines. For this purpose, the hopper, the connections to the machine frame, and the geometry of the discharge chutes are adapted to the specific application. Furthermore, this type of switch can also be mounted at the outlet of conveyor belts or other feed devices. Depending on the product range, both the switching flap and the hopper and discharge chutes can be made of textured stainless steel sheets to prevent parts from sticking. Special non-stick coatings can also be applied if required. The discharge chutes can also be designed with transparent covers, inspection hatches, etc., according to customer requirements. In addition to the geometric adaptation, the electrical interface is also designed according to customer requirements. Depending on the interfaces and signals available on the production machine or an existing control system, the switch is designed accordingly.
