The 3-way diverter with rotating chute and servomotor actuation is used wherever small or tapered parts need to be ejected. The three positions allow for considerable flexibility in dividing the feed stream into good parts, start-up parts, reject parts, and quality control parts.
Thanks to the extremely powerful and fast servo drive, the positions can be reached in the shortest possible time. The switching speed between the individual positions with this drive type is approximately 0.3 seconds. In this version, the diverter is typically used as a separating diverter, meaning it switches with each cycle to guide the sprue and good part separately into different channels in a two-stage ejection mechanism. Here, speed is key to minimize impact on the machine's cycle time.
Due to the high acceleration and mechanical stress, the entire housing and the rotating shaft are reinforced.
In this rotating shaft mechanism, patented by MTF Technik, a closed system of side walls and a switching flap rotates within a single housing. This eliminates gaps between the switching flap and the side walls where small parts can become trapped. Likewise, there is no relative movement between the two elements, preventing abrasion.
Like all MTF Technik switches, this type is designed and constructed entirely to meet the customer's specific requirements. This switch type can be integrated into all common injection molding machines or die-casting machines. For this purpose, the hopper, the connections to the machine frame, and the geometry of the discharge chutes are adapted to the specific application. Furthermore, this type of switch can also be mounted at the outlet of conveyor belts or other feeding devices.
Depending on the product range, both the rotary chute and the hopper and discharge chutes can be made of textured stainless steel sheets to prevent parts from sticking. Special non-stick coatings can also be applied if required. The discharge chutes can also be customized to customer specifications, with transparent covers, inspection hatches, etc.
In addition to the geometric adaptation, the electrical interface is also designed according to customer requirements. Depending on the interfaces and signals available on the production machine or an existing control system, the switch is designed accordingly.
