Task: Conveying and buffering sheet metal springs in containers
Sheet metal springs are produced in a press at a rate of approximately 30 parts per minute and must be conveyed into containers.
Container dimensions: 400x300x215mm (Plastic KLT 4321)
A filled container weighs approximately 10 kg.
The aim is to create a buffer solution for 22 containers in a confined space.
Solution: Small conveyor belt with pneumatic distributor rocker and buffer belts
Combination of a small I-Tech conveyor belt with a downstream pneumatic distributor rocker to divide the conveying flow into two parallel containers
The distribution rocker arm is made of stainless steel acoustic sheet in a sandwich construction to minimize noise pollution.
Two parallel Multi-Tech conveyor belts type GL serve as buffers
At the end of each conveyor line, the containers are pneumatically moved to the other belt.
To ensure safe transfer processes, the pairs of containers are separated before each transfer point. For this purpose, one pair of containers is clamped laterally by pneumatic cylinders.
Various functions are checked using light barriers (no empty containers present, containers in filling position, buffer full)
The evaluation is performed using a Siemens S7 controller.
The operating states are indicated by a 3-color signal light.
