The 2-way diverter valve with flap mechanism and electric motor actuation is used particularly in cleanroom applications when manufacturing larger or geometrically uncomplicated products. Compared to pneumatically operated diverter valves, the electric motor actuation of the diverter flap has the advantage that no compressed air escapes and therefore no air turbulence is created.
This type of diverter valve consists of a rectangular housing in which a diverter flap is mounted in the center. This flap can be adjusted to two positions, thus directing the conveying flow in different directions. The diverter flap is made of stainless steel as standard, but can also be manufactured from plastic (POM) if required. This serves to protect the parts and, on the other hand, allows the gap between the switching flap and the housing to be kept as small as possible. The flap is then guided within the housing and contacts the side walls. The switching speed between the end positions is between 1.0 and 1.5 seconds with this type of drive. Therefore, the switch is particularly suitable for the targeted distribution of parts flows or as a quality switch. Like all MTF Technik switches, this type is completely custom-designed and constructed. The switch type can be integrated into all common injection molding machines or die-casting machines. For this purpose, the hopper, the connections to the machine frame, and the geometry of the discharge chutes are adapted to the specific application. Furthermore, this type of diverter can also be mounted at the discharge of conveyor belts or other feeding devices. Depending on the product range, the diverter valve, the hopper, and the discharge chutes can be manufactured from structured stainless steel sheets to prevent part adhesion. Special non-stick coatings can also be applied if required. Likewise, the discharge chutes can be equipped with transparent covers, inspection hatches, etc., according to customer specifications. In addition to the geometric adaptation, the electrical interface is also designed according to customer requirements. Depending on which interfaces and signals the production machine or existing control system has, the switch is designed accordingly.
