The 2-way drop-away switch with flap mechanism and pneumatic actuation is used particularly in "standard applications" when manufacturing larger or geometrically uncomplicated products. The reinforced construction of the housing and bearings allows for a higher switching speed. This type of switch can therefore also be used as a separating switch.
This type of switch consists of a rectangular housing in which a changeover flap is mounted in the center. This flap can be pivoted into two positions, thus directing the conveying flow in different directions. The central arrangement of the changeover flap is particularly suitable when the switch is to be installed transversely to the machine axis and containers on both the operator and opposite sides are to be filled. The changeover flap is made of stainless steel as standard, but can also be manufactured from plastic (POM) if required. This serves to protect the components and also allows the gap between the changeover flap and the housing to be kept as small as possible. The flap is then guided within the housing and contacts the side walls. The switching speed between the end positions is between 0.3 and 0.7 seconds with this type of drive. Thus, this diverter is particularly suitable as a separating diverter, switching with each cycle to direct the sprue and good part separately into different channels using a two-stage ejection mechanism. The switching speed plays a crucial role here to minimize the cycle time of the production machine. Like all MTF Technik diverters, this type is completely custom-designed and engineered. It can be integrated into all common injection molding machines or die-casting machines. For this purpose, the hopper, the connections to the machine frame, and the geometry of the discharge chutes are adapted to the specific application. Furthermore, this type of diverter can also be mounted at the discharge of conveyor belts or other feeding devices. Depending on the product range, the diverter flap, hopper, and discharge chutes can all be manufactured from structured stainless steel sheets to prevent parts from sticking. Special non-stick coatings can also be applied if required. Likewise, the discharge chutes can be fitted with transparent covers, inspection hatches, etc., according to customer specifications. In addition to the geometric adaptation, the electrical interface is also designed according to customer requirements. The diverter is designed accordingly, taking into account the interfaces and signals available on the production machine or existing control system.
