This 2x2-way drop switch with flap mechanism and pneumatic actuation is used in special applications. When right and left parts are produced simultaneously in an injection mold, this allows for the separate removal of approach parts/rejects and good parts.

This type of switch consists of a rectangular housing in which a changeover flap is attached to each outer edge. This flap can be pivoted into two positions, thus directing the conveying flow in different directions. The lateral arrangement of the changeover flaps is particularly advantageous because, in one flap position, the parts can fall vertically downwards through the switch. As a rule, rejected or unsold parts are ejected to the side via the flap, while the good parts fall vertically downwards onto a conveyor belt with corresponding lane separation for the right and left parts. The changeover flap is made of stainless steel as standard, but can also be manufactured from plastic (POM) if required. This serves to protect the parts and also allows the gap between the changeover flap and the housing to be kept as small as possible. The flap is then guided within the housing and contacts the side walls. The switching speed between the end positions is between 1.0 and 1.5 seconds with this type of drive. Thus, this diverter is particularly suitable for the targeted distribution of part flows or as a quality diverter. Like all MTF Technik diverters, this type is completely custom-designed and engineered. It can be integrated into all standard injection molding machines or die-casting machines. For this purpose, the hopper, the connections to the machine frame, and the geometry of the discharge chutes are adapted to the specific application. Furthermore, this diverter can also be mounted at the discharge of conveyor belts or other feeding devices. Depending on the product range, the diverter flap, hopper, and discharge chutes can be manufactured from structured stainless steel sheets to prevent part adhesion. Special non-stick coatings can also be applied if required. Likewise, the drop chutes can be fitted with transparent covers, inspection hatches, etc., according to customer specifications. In addition to the geometric adaptation, the electrical interface is also designed according to customer requirements. The switch is designed accordingly, depending on which interfaces and signals the production machine or existing control system has.
