The magnetic drum is a reliable and fully automated solution for quality control of plastic-encapsulated metal parts, specifically for use in the automotive sector. It guarantees 100% separation between good and defective parts based on magnetic detection – efficiently, reliably, and without manual intervention.

After the conditioning process, the produced parts are fed batchwise to the dosing conveyor belt, which transfers the products evenly and at a precise rate to the magnetic drum. This reliably separates plastic parts with and without metal inserts:
Parts with correctly inserted metal are attracted to the magnetic drum, completely rotated around the drum, and unloaded into a defined good parts box. Products without metal inserts, on the other hand, leave the drum at the point of tangency and are classified as scrap. The system ensures that only flawless components with metal inserts are released for further use or shipment – ​​a crucial step in quality-assured series production for safety-relevant applications.
