Reliable metal detection in the conveying process

Protection of machines and people from metallic contamination

Conveyor technology with integrated metal detection

In many industrial sectors, the reliable detection of metallic contaminants in conveyed goods is of great importance. In the food industry, metallic contaminants must be eliminated to protect consumers, while in the recycling sector, plastic cutting mills and their knives must be protected from damage by metal parts, and in the plastic injection moulding sector, metal inserts in the product must be detected for quality assurance purposes , etc.

MTF Technik offers a wide range of customised equipment options and solutions to achieve these goals. Depending on the task at hand, surface metal detectors or tunnel metal detectors are integrated into conveyor belts, which can detect metallic contaminants during the transport process . These have the advantage that non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, etc. can also be detected. The controls of these metal detectors allow, for example, contaminants to be automatically ejected, signals to be emitted or statistics on contaminated parts to be kept.

Plate magnets or magnetic drive rollers can be used in MTF conveyor belts to efficiently separate ferrous contaminants.
