Task: Precise buffering of plugs on a conveyor belt

Plastic connector housings are fitted with contact pins in an assembly machine and are to be transferred by a robot onto a conveyor belt.

The connectors should be buffered in two tracks, with the contact pins hanging freely downwards.

The contact pins must not have any contact points with the conveyor belt to avoid damage.

The connectors have only a very small contact surface on one side, so the robot's positioning accuracy is correspondingly high – the belt guide must be correspondingly precise.

The plugs should be piled up at the end of the belt; the belt surface must be suitable for pile-up operation.

Solution: Special accumulation conveyor belt with three lanes

A horizontally positioned GL-HE 010 conveyor belt with three belts results in 2 lanes.

Special frame design of the accumulation conveyor belt to allow the contact pins to hang freely downwards.

MTF running mat No. 10, white, with antistatic properties and a slightly rough surface, suitable for storage operation

Running mats with forced guidance to ensure precise belt tracking

Belt support on specially milled plastic guide rails

Dust barrier at the belt exit, mounted above the running surface
