Dual-track buffer system for stamped parts
Task: Parallel buffering of different stamped parts
Stamped parts emerge from two different tool openings.
The parts are to be counted and then buffered in two separate containers.
The punching machine must not be stopped when changing containers.
For setup purposes, the press must be easily accessible.
Solution: Two parallel small conveyor belts with light barriers and buffer conveyor belts
Two I-Tech small conveyor belts transport the stamped parts from the press area.
Frame light barriers are mounted under each conveyor belt outlet, which detect and count the parts as they fall through.
The components first fall onto a pneumatically swiveling chute and then slide down into their respective containers.
The containers are placed on two parallel Multi-Tech GL type belt conveyors and positioned via corresponding light barriers and pneumatic cylinders.
Once the target number of pieces per container has been reached, the corresponding chute pivots into an intermediate position where the components are collected during the container change.
Once the next container is in position, the chute swings back to its starting position and the temporarily stored stamped parts enter the new container.
Filled containers run down a gravity roller conveyor and can be removed by the operator.
The I-Tech conveyor belts can be swivelled into a vertical position and locked in place when working on the punching tool. This allows the entire system to be moved away completely, saving space, when it is not needed for extended periods.
