Task: Transport and packaging of injection-molded parts in cartons with quantity determination

Various technical parts with a large number of cavities are produced on a high-speed injection molding machine.

In the first step, the components are to be transported away parallel to the machine axis.

After a certain cooling period, the products are to be packed into cartons, with the quantity being determined via a weighing process.

The system should offer space for a maximum of four empty boxes and four filled boxes (plus one box in the filling position).

Due to the limited space available at the machine, the system must be built narrow.

Solution: Conveyor belt combination with container holders, scale and buffer roller conveyor

Outfeed of parts via angled conveyor belt type NL-Sonder with special feed hopper, raised side guide and transfer chute mounted at the outlet for conveying parts to the subsequent belt

Straight GL-type discharge conveyor belt, controlled via a frequency converter to allow controlled cooling of the components and fine dosing at the belt outlet.

The straight conveyor belt is mounted above a feed roller conveyor for empty cartons.

The feed roller conveyor is equipped with pneumatic stop and singulation cylinders to transfer the cartons individually onto a weighing conveyor belt.

Weighing conveyor belt for receiving a carton in the filling position. Each carton is tared upon reaching the filling position, and the filling process is started via the straight cooling conveyor belt.

Once an adjustable percentage of the total fill level is reached, the cooling belt slows down to allow for precise dosing. When the target number of parts is reached, the cooling belt stops and reverses slightly to prevent any parts from accidentally falling out.

The filled carton is then transported to the buffer roller conveyor for filled cartons.

Above the roller conveyor with the filled boxes, there is a bracket for a customer-supplied label printer.
