Task: Reliable conveyor system for steel rounds

Steel discs of varying diameters are stamped out on a press. With each stroke, the press ejects two discs of different diameters, nested inside one another.

The parts are to be fixed onto a conveyor belt immediately after being ejected from the press.

If the discs are lying on top of each other, they should be scraped off.

The two different rounds are to be stacked on two different spikes.

Solution: Conveyor system with magnetic force, belt curve and scraper station

A Multi-Tech conveyor belt type GL with electromagnets integrated into the belt body ensures that the discs are "sucked" onto the conveyor belt and no longer jump around.

The conveyor belt's inclination can be adjusted using a threaded spindle, thus adapting it to different tools.

Due to structural conditions, the components are then transported further using a 90° belt curve.

A stripping device is mounted above another GL-type belt conveyor. This device consists of two independently motor-driven brush rollers, which are mounted on precision guides for height adjustment. This strips the material from stacked discs.

Following the stripping station, the discs are aligned on the conveyor belt by spring-loaded guide rails.

The two discs are then separated in the conveying flow. The discs with the larger diameter run onto a width-adjustable toothed belt conveyor. Here, the larger disc rests only on the outermost edge. The smaller discs pass between the toothed belts and enter an inclined GL-type belt conveyor.

The larger discs are transferred to a stacking mandrel at the end of the toothed belt conveyor. The smaller discs are first laid down by another belt curve at a 90° angle and then transferred to a second stacking mandrel.

The entire conveyor system has oil collection trays because the parts are oily.
