Linear buffer with angled conveyor belt and roller conveyor, incl. 3-way reject chute for QA for dispensing plastic parts into containers

Task: Plastic parts are to be removed from the SGM and distributed into containers.

Small plastic parts for electrotechnical components are to be picked up on the operator side of an injection molding machine, distributed into containers, and buffered.

The system should be suitable for filling containers with three different dimensions (KLT 600x400x320mm, KLT 400x300x220mm, cardboard box 379x210x140mm)

Quality shots should be collected at selectable intervals in separate containers measuring 200x150x120mm.

Cones of debris should be reduced as much as possible in the large containers.

Solution: Linear buffer with angled conveyor belt and roller conveyor, including 3-way reject chute for quality assurance

Use of an NL-HE 020 angle conveyor belt with PU running surface and corrugated edges including corrugated edge cover for guiding parts to the center of the conveyor belt and preventing parts jamming.

The conveyor belt is fitted with a PET cover on top in a combined pluggable/foldable design.

Additionally, a transfer hood is installed at the conveyor outlet for the parts feed into a pneumatic 3-way rotary shaft reject chute including a patented mechanism to prevent part jamming with small parts.

The rotary shaft reject chute allows control of two zones above the container buffer belt. This prevents the formation of pile cones in the large containers or, alternatively, distributes the contents to two smaller containers in parallel.

The third outlet of the reject chute is used to remove the quality control parts. For this purpose, an I-Tech small conveyor belt is mounted parallel to the buffer system, on which the separate containers are provided and buffered.

The entire process is controlled by a Siemens S7 including an interface to the production machine.
