Task: Angus separation systems and recycling of zinc die-cast parts

A system for the Angus separation of zinc die-cast parts is to be developed.

The aim is to return the sprues to the production process.

Solution: Conveyor belt combination with knock-off separating drum

The parts are conveyed from the die-casting machine via the laterally flared chute onto the first angled conveyor belt (type NVF-LD 120)

The design of the chute and conveyor belt is chosen so that the very large sprues align themselves longitudinally on the conveyor belt and thus fit into the inlet ring of the separating drum.

Due to the necessary separation of the sprue and the good part, a type A 3512 B knock-off drum is used for the separation system, including a moving hardwood block for knocking off the sprue (separation drum with individual adjustment, reversible drum direction, a hardwood block moving loosely in the drum cage as a knock-off medium and a catch plate for the wood at the drum outlet).

In the drum, the sprues are first separated from the good parts. The good parts are smaller than the sprues and fall out of the drum at the bottom, where they are collected in a box.

The sprues travel to the end of the drum and are conveyed via a chute onto a second angled steel hinge plate conveyor. This conveyor returns the sprues to the feed area of the die-casting machine.

This is a conveying, discharging, separating and returning device.
