MTF Technik - Conveyor Combination as Distribution Device

Task: Precise distribution of plastic parts into large containers

  • Plastic parts are packed in bags and have to be distributed into two big containers

  • The cycle time for one bag is approx. 10 seconds

  • The bags have to be counted within the conveying system, a counting signal from the bag machine is not available

  • Rejected bags (potential free signal from bagging machine) have to be sorted out

Solution: Conveyor belt combination with inclined conveyor and small conveyors

  • Combination of a reversible Small Conveyor Type IL to separate rejected parts, a Z-angled conveyor and a second reversible Small Conveyor which is mounted in a 90° angle to distribute the bags into two big containers

  • Double light sensors at the outlet of the Z-Conveyor to count the bags (without counting cleats)

  • Stable carriage for all three conveyors including the control unit

  • Siemens S7 PLC with three colour signal light and inputs for light barriers to control if boxes are in position

  • Confirmation buttons for box exchange

  • Signal exchange to the bag machine via Harting-plugs
